One of the many aspects which distinguishes classical dance from the non classical variety is the sharp consonance a classical dancer achieves with rhythmic structure and the dance movements. This is a consonance between the human body, human mind and the elusive entity, time.

This excellent feature is seen in the young talented Prema Sridharan, a professional dancer who was initiated into the realm of bharatanatyam in the traditional tanjavur style by renowned Padmashri Guru Smt. Saroja vaidyanathan.


Prema, from a very young age was always inclined in learning this art form which according to her is a subtle and a sophisticated dance. She has been learning from the tender age of seven. Prema is a regular performer and has innumerable performances to her credit. She has also received critical acclaim for her involvement in this art.


Endowed with majestic stage presence and excellent bdy language, grace and fluency, Prema has an intensity that is shown in her dance and an immaculate and assertive rhythm that captivates the audience. Her nritta or the footwork is perfect which reveals both her flair and innovativeness. She has a tremendous agility involvement and concentration.

This beautiful eyed girl showcases her ability to bring out the right emotions convincingly. Her pristine quality to handle the abhinaya is unique and coated with dignity and one can see the flow and elegance in her abhinaya .She has an innate sense of abhinaya that enables her to vividly communicate the alternating moods.

Prema has been noted as one of the young talented bharatantyam dancers.Prema, with a verve, vivacity, clarity of mudras, fluent movements of the body in combination with pleasing abhinaya exposes her skill as a talented young, promising dancer with exorbitant potential. She shows brilliant signs of a committed, dedicated and a beautiful artiste in the making.
